At StayNaija (referred to as "we", "us", "our", or "StayNaija"), we are committed to protecting the privacy of hotel owners, managers, staff, and guests. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and disclose information in connection with your use of StayNaija's hardware, software, services, and website.

1. Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to synchronize booking platforms with room energy states and ensure property efficiency. This includes:
- Property & Infrastructure Data: Live telemetry feeds, room power states (occupied, vacant, cleaning), energy draw data, solar battery metrics, generator run times, and distribution board logs.
- Operational & PMS Data: Information synchronized from your Property Management System (PMS), including check-in/check-out timestamps, guest room assignments, room rates, and staff activity logs.
- Guest Contact Information: Name, phone number (for WhatsApp check-in confirmations), and email addresses synchronized through your front desk or PMS.
- User Account Information: Manager and staff names, emails, login credentials, and action logs on the StayNaija dashboard.
2. How We Use Your Information
We process collected information to optimize property operations and lower overhead costs. Specifically, we use the data to:
- Automate room power controls, turning off high-draw appliances in vacant rooms.
- Deliver real-time operational status updates on the StayNaija dashboard.
- Dispatch automated check-in confirmations and status alerts to guests via WhatsApp.
- Detect anomalies in power usage and trigger alerts for immediate audit.
- Improve generator, solar, and utility battery usage scheduling.
- Provide customer support, troubleshooting, and hardware maintenance.
3. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We work with trusted partners to host our databases, run analytics, and deliver communications (such as Twilio/WhatsApp APIs). These partners are strictly bound to protect your data.
- Property Integrations: Data is shared bidirectionally with your selected PMS providers (e.g., Opera, Cloudbeds) as configured by your administrators.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by Nigerian law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
4. Local Caching & Security
StayNaija services employ local-first architectures for uninterrupted operations. If local internet drops, state data is cached locally on your hardware gateway. Once connection is restored, this data is synchronized securely with our cloud servers.
We implement industry-standard physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration of data.
5. Your Rights & Compliance
We align with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and general global data security principles. Users and properties have the right to:
- Request access to the historical telemetry and occupancy logs saved under their profile.
- Request correction of inaccurate staff or property records.
- Request deletion of historical logs, subject to local regulatory record-keeping laws.
