Why We Are Building Staynaija
In Nigerian hospitality, utility overhead is the single largest operational cost. Every day, hotels run diesel generators and drain expensive inverter battery banks because cooling systems and high-draw appliances run continuously in vacant, idle rooms.
Traditional Property Management Systems (PMS) only record check-ins on paper. They are completely blind to the physical room state. We realized that solving this required more than just bookkeeping software—it demanded a real-time hotel automation system that links physical room energy states directly with occupancy data.

Co-FounderDonald bridges the gap between complex engineering and financial efficiency. Alumnus of the University of Benin, where he studied Accounting, and Semicolon, where he advanced his Software Engineering expertise, Donald oversees Staynaija’s engineering architecture, hardware integrations, and product strategy. His background combines critical data science, design thinking, and financial management, allowing him to spearhead hotel automation systems and smart power controllers that directly optimize operational margins. Donald’s multi-disciplinary leadership ensures Staynaija’s hospitality and management solutions are both technologically cutting-edge and commercially viable.
